We Built a PARA Game

Most people are trying to keep up with AI by consuming more of it. More tools, more tabs, more half-built workflows scattered across a dozen chat logs you'll never find again.

We built the Second Brain Membership as the way off that treadmill.

Each month, you go deep on one thing and build it into your own setup, alongside people doing the same work.

In July, we're wiring up connectors that feed your AI Second Brain automatically. Next month, we're catching your best original ideas before they vanish.

We're raising the price on July 10. Join before then, and you keep today's rate ($649 per year or $225 per quarter) for as long as you stay. Current members, nothing changes for you.

Claude Connectors: 5 Checks Before You Trust the Answer

I connected Claude to my calendar, my inbox, and my notes, and I found out how little it really sees.

Connectors can feel like a sixth sense for your AI Second Brain. They can also drop more of your data than you'd expect.

In this 9-minute video, I share the catch most people miss, the 5 checks I run to verify Claude's work, and the habits that keep my setup safe and lean.

If you want to go deeper, I wrote a full guide covering everything from choosing the right connectors to protecting yourself from real security risks. Read it on the blog.

How Much Do You Spend on AI Tools Every Month?

Between Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Notion AI, and everything else in the ecosystem — the subscriptions add up fast.

We want to understand what the average looks like across our community.

Try the PARA Sort Game

Nico on our team built a sorting game to help you practice the PARA Method. Our community has been obsessed with it.

You get a stream of real-life items — a project deadline, an old course, a reference article — and you have to sort them into the right PARA category before time runs out. It sounds simple. It isn't, at least not at first.

One community member said it well: "In real life, I'm always unsure where to put certain information. The game showed that in most cases, the answer is hidden in the wording itself."

That kind of clarity is hard to get from reading. Playing it is different.

New to PARA altogether? We have a free Quickstart course that gives you the core concepts in one sitting. Start here

Simple Marketing for Smart People Is Now on Atticus

Billy Broas is one of the few marketing experts I trust. He co-authored Simple Marketing for Smart People with me, and his advice has shaped how I think about communicating ideas.

I was excited when he told me the book is now available on Atticus — a new AI-powered reading platform I've been following closely.

Here's what makes it different from a regular audiobook or ebook: Atticus lets you have a conversation with the book while you read or listen. You can ask questions, go deeper on specific ideas, and get cited answers pulled directly from the text — all in one experience.

For a book like Simple Marketing for Smart People, where the ideas build on each other and the core framework takes time to internalize, this format makes a lot of sense. Instead of re-reading a chapter, you ask a question and get exactly what you need.

If you've read the book and want to go deeper, or if you've been meaning to start it, this is worth checking out.

Summer always slows things down around here, and this year I'm letting it. I'm back home in California with my family for a few weeks, working at half speed and enjoying it. This weekend, I'm heading up to the Bay Area for our fourth annual Wholesome Mastermind, a small gathering of fellow authors, educators, and online creators. Every year I leave with new ideas and a clearer head. I expect this one will be no different. Our YouTube team is also taking a two-week break, so instead of a video...

Today, I want to announce the Alumni Mentor Corps – a program we’re building for Cohort 2 of The AI Second Brain, running September 17 to October 8. Applications are only open to graduates of our founding cohort. But I wanted to share it with everyone anyway. We believe in building in public, showing you the thinking behind what we create, not just the finished product. This is a big part of how we're preparing for Cohort 2, and I think the vision behind it is worth your time. Read about the...

The summer solstice passed last Sunday. It's the natural midpoint of the year, and I've been using it as a prompt to check in with myself on how 2026 is going. In my upcoming book Life in Perspective, I write about the value of a mid-year review. A few of the questions I sit with: What have I learned from my endeavors so far this year? Which assumptions I started the year with turned out to be wrong? What do I want to make sure I get to before December? If you have a few minutes this week,...
