I Built My Own App (Death Clock)

Starting tomorrow, I’ll be sharing a special email series about one of the most transformative experiences of my life — my journey into personal growth and emotional self-awareness through my work with Joe Hudson and the Art of Accomplishment.

Over two weeks, I’ll send you the surprising lessons that have reshaped how I work, how I relate to others, and how I live my life.

If you’ve ever sensed that there’s something deeper waiting for you beyond endless striving and self-improvement, I think you’ll find a lot in it for you.

Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll learn:

  • Why every productivity roadblock is just a symptom — and how to address the deeper cause underneath.
  • How embracing your full range of emotions unlocks new levels of creativity, connection, and fulfillment.
  • How the hidden story of “I’m not good enough” quietly shapes our lives — and how to dismantle it.
  • Why true joy requires welcoming all emotions — and how to invite it back into your life.
  • How personal growth can be practiced systematically, just like any other skill — leading to lasting change.

This series will also introduce you to the Art of Accomplishment Master Class — a program created by my mentor Joe Hudson that has profoundly impacted my wife, my team members, and countless others who have taken it.

If you’re ready to explore the emotional, relational, and even spiritual layers of accomplishment — the parts no “how-to” guide ever tells you about — I invite you to opt in.

Introducing Death Clock (And My First Experience with Vibecoding)

What happens when someone with zero coding experience builds their first app using only AI?

That’s exactly what I set out to explore with Death Clock, a life expectancy calculator powered by 17 personalized variables.

It was my first foray into “vibecoding,” a new kind of AI-assisted software development. In just a few hours (and with plenty of help from Cursor, a coding assistant), I went from idea to fully functional web app—all without writing a single line of code myself.

In this post, I share the lessons, unexpected insights, and big-picture implications of vibecoding for creators of all kinds.

The Master Prompt Method: Unlock AI's Full Potential

What if AI could become your smartest, most efficient employee?

I chatted with serial entrepreneur Hayden Miyamoto to introduce the Master Prompt Method—a powerful way to train your AI with full context about you and your business.

We break down how it works and share practical tips so you can start building your own master prompt today.

Join me now, at 12 pm ET, in the YouTube chat, where I can answer your questions.

My 3S Approach to Content Creation

One of the mistakes I see people make is starting with how they want to express something, before knowing what they actually want to say.

I take a different approach. I recently shared my three-step process that helps me avoid creative overwhelm in a workshop in our Second Brain Membership.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Selection: I start by gathering all the raw material without judgment in a new folder in my Second Brain in Evernote (e.g., notes, quotes, ideas, references).
  2. Sequence: Once I have the pieces, I arrange them in a logical order. This gives me a rough outline and helps me get clarity on what the content actually is before I commit to a format.
  3. Style: Only at this point do I focus on the actual expression. I decide how I want to deliver the message—tweet, blog post, etc. This is where execution happens.

This sequence gives me flexibility and allows for iteration. I might take an outline and write a short post first. Later, I can expand it into something longer. Or I might turn it into a video.

I use the 3S every time. It’s one of the most reliable ways I’ve found to keep creating without feeling overwhelmed.

Try it out and see how it works for you.

I’m putting the finishing touches on the agenda for the live kick-off session of The Annual Review 2026 this Thursday, and I couldn’t be more excited to meet everyone in the program. We just crossed 500 people enrolled this morning. And they're already making their way through the first few chapters of my upcoming book Life in Perspective. Quick reminder that enrollment closes in just over 24 hours—at midnight PT tomorrow, Dec. 3. So this is your last chance to join us. Let’s kick off 2026...

In case you missed yesterday’s announcement: Enrollment is now open for The Annual Review 2026! This year, you’ll get exclusive early access to my upcoming book Life in Perspective—a full year before it’s published. You’ll work through the complete annual review methodology I’ve refined over 17 years, and your feedback will help shape the final version that thousands of others will read. The program runs Dec. 4 through Jan. 7 and includes two live sessions with me, the book manuscript,...

For years, I’ve collected questions and prompts that reveal hidden truths about our lives. As the end of 2025 approaches, here are 3 of my favorites that never fail to give me insight: 1. When did you feel most alive? What was happening around you to fuel that aliveness? This helps you identify the conditions that make you feel alive, so you can recreate them in the future. 2. What hardships are you carrying with you into this time of year? This surfaces the disappointments, heartbreaks, and...
