How to Use Google's New AI Tool

I’m heading to Mexico in March to speak at the Festival de las Ideas (Festival of Ideas) in Puebla alongside Jay Shetty, David A. Sinclair, and other thought leaders.

The mission of the festival is to share ideas around freedom, prosperity, education, innovation and leadership to transform our vision of the world.

Check it out here.

I made a short video about it:

My Simple Strategy for Higher Output

I credit much of my professional output to one strategy: single-tasking.

Whether I'm sitting down to work for 15 minutes or two hours, I want every work session to be intentional and focused on a tangible result.

Before I start, I decide on the #1 priority for my work session. This helps me stay focused even as interruptions and distractions pop up (and they inevitably will).

So here's my challenge for you this week: Avoid the urge to multitask, jumping from one task to the next without committing to any one of them fully.

Instead, do one thing at a time until you've reached your time limit or got the result you need.

It’s completely ok to make your focus responding to emails or working on administrative tasks, but make that decision intentional.

I'd love to know how this experiment goes for you. Hit reply and share your experience!

How to Use NotebookLM (Google's New AI Tool)

Google's NotebookLM is way more than notetaking, writing, or organizational tool. It's an AI collaborator, grounded on your data with your unique view of the world.

In this tutorial, I'll give you a tour of the main functionalities, demonstrate concrete use cases such as making sense of meeting notes or writing an article, and cover the current limitations.

Watch on YouTube.

The development of NotebookLM at Google was spearheaded by Steven Johnson. If you’d like to know more about his deep experience using technology to think and write better, check out this super in-depth interview with Steven on David Perell’s How I Write podcast.

Work Faster With This Free AI Browser Extension

Have you noticed that so much of the work we do is simply moving information between different websites and apps?

That’s true no matter what profession you’re in. We format, personalize and curate information so that other people can use our data.

This is necessary but it’s not where our creativity shines. With AI, we can now finally speed up these repetitive tasks significantly.

For example, with the free Magical AI browser extension, you can now…

  • Save frequent responses to reply to emails and messages 10x faster while still personalizing them
  • Fill out forms and spreadsheets automatically with data instead of manually copy and pasting the information
  • Type quicker than ever with text expanders and even share templates with your team at work

You’ll have Magical AI installed in your browser in less than a minute to save you time on 10M+ websites. And it doesn’t store your data so it never leaves your computer.
